Why it matters when you hire

In Victoria, WorkSafe issues high risk work licences under the Occupational Health and Safety Regulations 2017. A crane operator must hold the class that matches the crane they use. Hiring a crane with an operator (wet hire) means the operator brings that licence. You can ask to see it. Dogging and rigging are separate licence classes (DG, RB, RI, RA) for the people slinging and directing the load.
